• Act as the embedded safety engineering SME for new buildings, capital equipment deployments, process changes, pilots, and equipment modifications across the Chewy Fulfillment Network, including Chewy Rx.
• Coordinate with Launch, Design, Construction, Engineering, Technology, Maintenance & Reliability (M&R), Operations, and EHS teams from concept through commissioning.
• Participate as a technical EHS partner in adapting to new procedures. Review equipment modifications, process changes, and facility alterations to identify design-related hazards.
• Review engineering drawings, CAD files, design packages, specifications, and vendor submittals for material-handling equipment, conveyors, automation, racking, and related warehouse systems to identify hazards and recommend engineering controls.
• Conduct safety design reviews and risk assessments for new and modified equipment using ISO 12100, ANSI B11, and hierarchy-of-controls principles. Maintain hazard logs and risk registers to track mitigation measures through implementation and closure.
